Noon–1pm Sunday 23 October at A Shed. Map.
The site of the Queen Victoria Market has a rich and contested history. The John Batman obelisk sits in the middle of the market, and as part of Biennial Lab, SIBLING are re-examining the obelisk’s multiple meanings in Over Obelisk, addressing its contested histories and creating a platform for discussion. Joining SIBLING on the day will be Aboriginal author Tony Birch and Jefa Greenaway, the first registered Indigenous architect in Victoria and a member of the Biennial Lab curatorium. Together, they will discuss monuments, anti-monuments and the unmonumental. This event is free, please register you interest here.
