Amaya has spent her adult life as a copywriter and publicist in the Australian arts scene. She has crafted words about dancers, comedians; sonic and visual artists, every type of circus expert, poets, filmmakers and musicians.
She writes speeches, press releases, newsletters and bios in an effort to make everyone look good and true. She then sits back and watches as her subjects spring to life and unwrap bundles of smart, precious and provocative art for the world to see.
Amaya has worked with the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival (HRAFF), Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Gertrude Street Projection Festival, Arts Centre Melbourne, Sydney Dance Company, Malthouse Theatre, Bell Shakespeare, National Ballet of China, Semi-Permanent, Circus Oz, Compagnie Philippe Genty, RAWCUS, Token Comedy and more.
Amaya grew up on the salty side of town on Noongar country and now spends most of her time on sticky carpet in Melbourne.
